SWPPP Contractor for Idaho Construction Projects

A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP or SW3P) is a legal requirement for most construction projects in Idaho. Without a compliant plan in place, you could face steep daily fines, stop-work orders, and even criminal penalties.

Inspectors from local municipalities or the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) can visit your construction site at any time to review SWPPP documentation. If your records are incomplete or missing, your project may be shut down immediately, resulting in costly delays and penalties.

At Pro SWPPP, we create Idaho-compliant stormwater plans that fully satisfy local, state, and federal regulations. With over 17 years of experience, our streamlined process ensures fast, accurate, and thorough plans to keep your construction project compliant and on schedule. Our easy online ordering system simplifies the process and helps prevent costly project interruptions.

Our team is led by Certified Professionals in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), one of the most respected credentials in the industry. With our expertise, you can trust that every SWPPP we produce meets or exceeds Idaho DEQ and EPA standards.

Is a SWPPP required in Idaho?

Yes. Under the Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (IPDES) Construction General Permit, most construction projects must have a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) if:

  • The project will disturb one acre or more of land, or

  • It will disturb less than one acre but is part of a larger common plan of development that will ultimately disturb one acre or more.

If either applies, you are legally required to develop and follow a SWPPP to stay compliant with Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulations.

Failing to do so can lead to serious consequences, including:

  • Civil penalties up to $10,000 per violation or $5,000 per day for each day of a continuing violation under Idaho Code § 39-175E and § 39-108. (The federal Clean Water Act may impose even higher penalties if the EPA enforces the violations directly.)

  • Stop-work orders issued by Idaho DEQ or local authorities

  • Mandatory corrective actions

  • And in severe or willful cases, criminal penalties, including potential fines and imprisonment

Skipping your SWPPP in Idaho can cost you thousands per day, and even bring your project to a standstill.

When Will My SWPPP Be Ready?

3 business days to receive your SWPPP after ordering.

In a rush? You can expedite your SWPPP to receive it within 24 hours.

Services We Provide

Our Idaho SWPPP services make obtaining your SWPPP quick and hassle-free. Simply complete our Order Form, and provide a link to your civil drawings; we handle the rest. Within 72 hours, you’ll receive a fully customized SWPPP designed specifically for your Idaho jobsite and project requirements.

Every plan is guaranteed to comply with federal (EPA), Idaho DEQ (IPDES), and local regulations, ensuring your project stays fully compliant from start to finish.

For Idaho construction projects that disturb one acre or more, a Notice of Intent (NOI) must be filed to obtain coverage under the Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (IPDES) Construction General Permit, administered by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).

We also offer a full-service option for a modest additional fee. With this service, you provide a Delegation of Authority (DAR) form, and we handle the entire stormwater permitting process on your behalf, including NOI submission and payment of permit fees, so your project stays fully compliant without added stress.

Some municipalities in Idaho require a SWPPP site map before construction begins. If your project falls under this requirement, we’ll prepare a compliant site map for you. Because local regulations can vary, we confirm upfront whether a site map is needed and ensure it meets all jurisdictional standards.

Idaho SWPPP FAQs

What are the SWPPP requirements in Idaho?

If your construction project will disturb one acre or more, Idaho law requires a SWPPP) and coverage under the Idaho Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (IPDES) Construction General Permit administered by Idaho DEQ.

For a full overview, please see our complete list of SWPPP requirements.

Who regulates SWPPP in Idaho?

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) administers the state’s IPDES program. DEQ issues permits, monitors compliance, and enforces Idaho’s stormwater regulations, making a compliant SWPPP essential for your project.

How long does a SWPPP last?

A SWPPP is required only during active construction. Once your project is complete, coverage under the Construction General Permit ends through a Notice of Termination (NOT) submitted to Idaho DEQ.

Do I need to update the SWPPP if the project changes?

Yes. A SWPPP is a living document, so any changes to site conditions or project plans require updates. We handle all revisions, ensuring your plan remains accurate and fully compliant throughout construction.

WHY WAIT? WHY PAY MORE? WHY TAKE A RISK?

We can do your SWPPP in 72 hours, or it's FREE!
